Hunt Stookey is a Managing Director in HighQuest's Boston office. He has deep expertise applying microeconomics to forecast market evolution in commodity industries, and leads HighQuest's proprietary long range forecasting of demand, supply and trade flows for agricultural commodities including soy, corn, and wheat.
Mr. Stookey leads HighQuest's expanding agricultural investment consulting practice where he advises both managers and end investors. For managers, Mr. Stookey has led product development and diligence engagements, including multiple engagements totaling over 80,000 hectares of soy, corn, cotton, wheat, cattle and timber. For institutional end investors Mr. Stookey provides the fundamental research to help decide whether and how to invest in agriculture, including development of a target portfolio sub-allocation. He works with clients to identify and select the best managers to provide the desired mix of exposures, and monitors performance of those managers going forward.
Mr. Stookey brings 20 years of experience in consulting and private equity investing across a wide range of industries including financial services, manufacturing, energy and agribusiness. Mr. Stookey has led M&A diligence efforts for transactions totaling over $15 billion for both corporate and private equity clients. Prior to HighQuest, Mr. Stookey was a senior consultant at global strategy firms Booz &Co. and Monitor Group. Mr. Stookey has a B.S. in Engineering from Trinity College and an MBA from the School of Management at Yale University.
