Mr. Lu is a manager in HighQuest Partners’ Global Food, Agribusiness and Biofuels practice. Since 2006, he has advised several multinational agribusiness companies on grain/oilseed origination strategy, international market expansion, project financing, infrastructure investment in Asia, divestiture and acquisitions of assets and technologies in the animal feed sector. Mr. Lu had been conducting research on global agricultural greenhouse gas emission since 2008 and helped develop a Global Ag Carbon Index, a carbon price discovery mechanism for agribusiness.
Prior to joining HighQuest Partners, Mr. Lu worked for a DC-based agribusiness consulting firm. He was also the Director of Global Food Safety Forum (GFSF), an international food safety advocacy organization with offices in Beijing and Washington DC, and was in charge of liaisons with Chinese regulatory agencies and industry associations.
Previously, Mr. Lu was the Strategy Analyst at the Global Strategic Development Department of AOL in its headquarters office in Dulles, Virginia after working in different sales and marketing positions in China. He holds a MBA degree with concentration in Investment and International Business from George Washington University and Bachelors from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Mr. Lu speaks English, Mandarin, Chinese dialects and basic Japanese.
