 Blair Fortner Joins HighQuest Partners as Managing Director (12.6.2011)
DANVERS, MASS, December 6, 2011Chief Executive Officer Greg Mellinger announced this week that Blair L. Fortner has joined HighQuest Partners as a director in the company’s St. Louis, Mo., office.
An economist by training, Fortner brings a breadth of knowledge from the public, private and political sectors to utilize when working with HighQuest Partner’s clients. In his new position, he will be responsible for executing marketing and business development strategies for association and government business clients. Fortner will report to Mark Dineen, President of Soyatech, a wholly-owned subsidiary of HighQuest Partners.
“Blair’s extensive experience working in the government sector will provide an expert source of knowledge for our government clients,” said Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer Tripp Lantz. “His ability to navigate swiftly through the numerous regulations and hierarchy of government will be an asset to our clients’ business needs being met in an expedient and organized manner.”
Prior to joining HighQuest Partners, Fortner had been a senior economist and director of global issues and alliances at the U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC). While there, he directed global research on market access issues and represented the interests of U.S. soybean producers in trade negotiations.
Fortner also has held positions with the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. House of Representatives, Citigroup, and on various political campaigns at the state and national level.
Fortner holds a master of arts degree in economics with a focus on macroeconomics and public choice and a bachelor of science degree in international economics and business, both from the University of Arkansas.
