OIL WORLD, CME Group and Bunge global experts highlight speaker line up at new Oilseed Congress

BARCELONA– The outlook for the global oilseed sector and developing market trends will be presented at the upcoming Oilseed Congress Europe/MENA by Thomas Mielke of OIL WORLD, followed by presentations and panel sessions addressing key issues for the sector with industry executives and experts from CME Group, Bunge, ADM, INTL FCStone, and StrategieGrain/Tallage, among others. This event, which will take place 9-10 February 2015 in Barcelona at The Hotel Arts, will feature insightful content and unparalleled networking opportunities for those operating across the oilseed complex in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.

Mielke, who is editor-in-chief of OIL WORLD publications, will open the inaugural event on Monday, February 9, with his presentation Global Overview of the Oilseed Market. The discussion will focus on supply and demand forecasts, pricing, competition with other row crops, and the challenges facing the global oilseed production and processing sector.
Known throughout the industry as an insightful and trenchant analyst of global trends, Mielke specializes in global commodity analyses and market research on supply, demand and prices of oilseeds and their derivative products, including soft seeds and tropical oils. He has delivered over 300 lectures at conferences and workshops around the world.
Mielke will be joined by numerous other industry experts at the Oilseed Congress, including Eduardo Doyhambehere, who is general manager of Bunge Europe’s soybean processing operations. Doyhambehere will share the stage with Christophe Cogny, biofuel and oilseed market analyst at StrategieGrain/Tallage, and John Grossman, vice president of ADM’s European Soybean Crush operations, in a panel discussion addressing the regions’ oilseed meal markets. The group will discuss developing market trends, key drivers for increased consumption, and the likely scenarios should oilseed production not keep up with growing demand.
On the Overview of Oil Markets panel, attendees will hear from moderator Jorge de Saja, general manager of AFOEX (National Association for the Advancement of companies Oilseed and Extraction), and José Angel Olivero Garcia, sales director at LIPIDOS SANTIGA S.A.
Panelists will address regulatory policies, the expected competitiveness between oilseeds, and how prices and supply/demand for oilseeds have evolved over the past year.
INTL FCStone will participate in a panel session focused on risk management strategies that importers can leverage to manage risks in their businesses, including price volatility and weather risk.
The day-and-a-half Oilseed Congress has been tailored to address the unique challenges and opportunities facing those active in the oilseed sector in Europe and the MENA region, including importers and exporters, merchandisers and traders, service providers, and primary processors and downstream consumption markets in feed, food, biodiesel and industrial applications.
