Interactive workshops and pre-event seminars boost knowledge sharing at Global AgInvesting Europe (10.22.2015)

LONDON, 22 October 2015 Global AgInvesting Europe 2015 will offer new interactive workshops, along with pre-event seminars on ag tech and ag fundamentals, to complement the wide array of agriculture insights presented by key experts at this sixth annual event, which will take place at the Landmark London, 30 November - 2 December.

More than 60 thought leaders from around the globe will deliver presentations and participate in panel discussions on topics such as the investment case for regenerative agriculture, comparative analysis of agriculture investment strategies, an overview of investment opportunities in all major production regions and along the supply chain, and innovations in agriculture technology. Additionally, attendees will be introduced to interactive workshops on Water Scarcity Solutions and Opportunities to Invest, Structuring the Investment Vehicle for Institutional Investors, and Responsible Governance of Tenure: A Technical Guide for Investors.

Event Chairman Philippe de Lapérouse will open the main conference on 1 December with a presentation about the current status of agriculture as an asset class. Lapérouse, a managing director with conference host HighQuest Group, will discuss the major developments within the past year and show detailed data sets on the investment options available, both liquid and illiquid, to the institutional investment community and the risk/return trade-offs they must consider when developing an agriculture portfolio.

Other sessions, which are interspersed with over 10 hours of networking time, including a guided scotch tasting on Wednesday, 2 December, are:

Exploring Investment Opportunities Along the Agricultural Supply Chain
• Case Study: The Importance of Technology & Human Capital at the Farm Level
• Row Crops, Specialty Crops and Permanent Crops: A Comparative Analysis
• Agriculture Opportunities in Australia & New Zealand, Central and Eastern Europe, Africa, North America and South America

“Agriculture focused investments offer their own unique challenges over and above other investments and any potential investor needs to understand the risks and opportunities,” said Global AgInvesting speaker Desmond Sheehy, co-founder and CIO of Duxton Asset Management of Singapore. “Global AgInvesting events offer a pathway to gaining knowledge across the entire ag investing sector as well as facilitating important industry connections.”
