The food for the 1% movement: what does it mean for agriculture? at this month’s Boston Ag Club (10.4.2016)

BOSTON, October 4, 2016 – Guest speaker Greg Duerksen of Kincannon & Reed will provide insight for the ag community in his October 18 presentation at the Boston Ag Club of “The Food for the 1% Movement and What It Means for Agriculture.” This luncheon club will take place from noon to 2 p.m. at The Union Club here.

Duerksen is president of Kincannon & Reed, a leading retained executive search firm focused exclusively on the interrelated realms of food, agribusiness and life sciences. The firm has placed senior executives in all functions in all corners of the globe.

Before entering executive search, Duerksen was a senior international executive. As CEO, he led the successful turnarounds of a Pepsi-Cola® bottling company in Mexico and of Latin America’s largest fertilizer producer and exporter. Prior to these posts, he was vice president of marketing and development for Terra Industries. As chairman of the Food Safety Committee of the Chemical Producers & Distributors Association, he twice testified in Congress on food safety issues. He received a B.A. from Augustana College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

The Boston Ag Club, hosted by North Shore-based HighQuest Group, seeks to bring together agribusiness and ag investing market participants to network, discuss important trends and promote business success among regional stakeholders in cities from coast-to-coast.

The luncheon schedule offers networking from noon to 12:30 p.m., followed by lunch/speaker. The Union Club is located at 8 Park Street in Boston. Registration is $65 per person and is requested by Friday, October 14 at Ag Club registration.
